Born
June 23, 1970 in a very, very small town called Shanksville, PA (this
is the town flight 93 went down) which is in Western PA, Somerset County.
I was raised on a dairy farm in which I have vivid memories
of daily chores such as milking cows, unloading hay, forking manure,
picking rocks out of fields, just to name a few.
I was very active in Jr. and Sr. High-school, participating
in all the sports that were offered at the K-12 school known as Shanksville-Stonycreek
Joint School.
It was at Lock Haven University that the weight training
began, as the barnwork and athletics no longer were keeping this body
lean enough. I was not playing any sports at college and started exercising
at the small college gym (a.k.a. "the dungeon", because it
was in the basement of an old auditorium). This was where all the football
players and wrestlers worked out. I found out I was naturally gifted
with strength and asked one of the guys who competed locally in bodybuilding
if he would show me the ropes.
This man and very dear friend, Steve Saylor, gets the
credit of starting me off in the right direction of bodybuilding. 6
months after I started training, I competed in my first ANBC competition
and won the overall! Look at my Contest History section for the competitions
I entered the following 10 years toward the road of turning Pro. 2000
was the year I decided to jump on the NPC National stage at the Jr.
USA's, taking 1st in the Heavyweights, and then Nationals, placing 4th
in the middleweights.2001 was my most rewarding year thus far, placing
3rd in the Heavyweights at the USA's in July, and then winning the Overall
at Nationals, this past November.
Currently I am employed as a Physical Therapist Assistant
at Greater Pittsburgh Physical Therapy and Personal Train Clients at
my boyfriend, Andy Snyder's personal training studio, "Pittsburgh Pro
Training." I also judge Pennsylvania NPC Competitions and am available
for guest posing and personal appearances at a discussed fee.
I have spent most of 2002 networking and self promoting
to get my name and face seen in the sport. I judge PA NPC shows and
have attended most of the National Level shows. I love bodybuilding
and like to show my support to other competitors trying to achieve success.
