I
am a personal trainer, and have been hardcore into fitness for about
ten years. I consider myself a "moderate" bodybuilder. I compare
myself to Corey Everson
and Valentina Chepiga more so than the professional female bodybuilding
champions of today.
I would not be interested in becoming as large as the
recent pro and national level champions, and have therefore not competed
since the USA Championships in 2004, where I received 6th place out
of 16 Heavyweights. Not bad for my first show, but at 5'7" and
142 pounds, the top 3 had a huge amount more muscle than I could ever
want to have.
I may compete in the future again, if the judging swings
away from the freaky big girls. I think more people would appreciate
the sport of women's bodybuilding, if it toned down a bit and did not
encourage such growth, but rewarded a more feminine, natural look.
