I started competing in 1999 and continued to do so until 2001. At that point, my life shifted and going to the gym was a rare occurance.
In 2004, with the help of Anita Ramsey (anitaramsey.com), I began competing again.

I took 1st place in the Novice division at the 2005 NPC Lackland Bodybuilding Championship. I also competed in my very first powerlifting meet. With a 286lb deadlift, 160lb bench and 193lb squat I exceeded my expectations, but know I can always improve. I look forward to increasing my numbers at the next powerlifting meet.
In 2006, I took third place in my first open division competition (there was only three of us). Moving into the Open division was a huge eye opener. I really did not know what those competitors brought to the stage. I have had to work very hard to build muscle and lean out for a show.
My body will not let go of fat, nor does it like to put on muscle. I have learned that it takes 150% dedication and consistency. I have discovered you have to enjoy the journey or you won't make the necessary gains that you need.
I am hoping to turn things around in the very near future. 2007 may not be my year, but hopefully with another year of training hard, 2008 will bring good things.
