My
name is Sheila Wellington; I am an amateur Bodybuilding/Figure competitor.
It
became apparent that her body responded extremely well to weight training. Other
women began to notice and started asking her for advice on training and dieting.
Years
ago people in various gyms that Sheila belonged to started suggesting that she
compete in bodybuilding. She began to then seriously train for her first "All
Natural" competition in April of 2004.
She entered her
first competition in October of 2004 (OCB) Organization of Competitive Bodybuilding.
Sheila walked away with 1st place in NOVICE FIGURE class and 1st place in Master's
35 years and up class. This was a great accomplishment for someone's first competition
and considering she was older than the majority of the entrants. People were surprised
that she had never entered a show before! In the same year two weeks later Sheila
entered the Musclemania. The results of that show; 2nd place in the OPEN FIGURE
class! (Not bad for a woman old enough to be the 1st place winner's mother!)
There
is still nothing more rewarding as hearing from other women and men who have been
inspired by her success that they are going to the gym regularly and feel that
age is not a barrier to being and feeling the best you can be! She hopes that
her life dedication, focus, discipline, determination and sacrifices will inspire
and motivate others to want to live a healthy lifestyle. She loves the mental
challenge and work involved in maintaining a healthy, fit and positive lifestyle!!
